1. About these terms
These are the terms on which Capital Waste Management Ltd (“CWM”, “we”, “us”) provides waste-collection, clearance and related services to you (“the customer”). They apply whenever you book a job with us by phone, WhatsApp, email or through the quote form on this website. By confirming a booking you accept these terms.
If you're booking on behalf of a business, you confirm you have authority to do so and that the business will be bound by these terms.
2. Quotes
We quote on the information you give us — usually a description and a few photos. Our quote is valid for 7 days unless we say otherwise, and is based on:
- the volume and weight of waste you've described;
- the type of waste (general, builders, garden, WEEE, etc.);
- the access at the collection point (stairs, lift, distance from the van, parking).
If the job turns out materially larger or more difficult than described, we'll tell you the revised price before we lift anything and you can choose to proceed or cancel.
3. Booking and changes
A booking is confirmed when we acknowledge it in writing (text, email or WhatsApp). You can reschedule a booking up to 4 hours before the start of the agreed slot at no charge. Later changes may incur a return-trip fee.
4. Access on the day
You agree to provide:
- safe and lawful access to the collection point at the agreed time;
- a person aged 18 or over to authorise the collection, or written confirmation that we may collect in your absence;
- any keys, codes, parking permits or building permissions we need.
If we can't access the property at the agreed time through no fault of ours, we'll wait up to 15 minutes and then leave. A return-trip fee applies.
5. What we'll take
We take most household and commercial waste — see the services page for the full list. We will not take:
- asbestos in any form;
- clinical, medical, pharmaceutical or chemotherapy waste;
- hazardous chemicals (other than small consumer quantities of paint or oil);
- fuels, gas cylinders, explosives, ammunition or fireworks;
- tyres in commercial quantities (we'll take a small number of household tyres for a fee);
- raw food waste from a commercial kitchen (we can arrange a route for this — ask).
If you're unsure, send a photo on WhatsApp before the day. We'd much rather have the conversation in advance than turn up and decline.
6. Ownership and what happens to the waste
By presenting items for collection you confirm they are yours to dispose of, or that you have the owner's permission. Once we load the van, the waste becomes our responsibility for licensed transfer.
We route everything through licensed transfer stations. Where it can be recycled or reused, it is. You will receive a waste-transfer note for each job — keep this on file, as it's your record that the waste was lawfully handled.
If we collect items by mistake (something you didn't want removed), tell us as quickly as possible. We will make reasonable efforts to retrieve identifiable items, but once a load is tipped at a transfer station retrieval may not be possible.
7. Pricing and payment
Pricing is as quoted, exclusive of VAT unless stated. We accept card and contactless on site, bank transfer in advance, or invoice for business accounts (subject to a credit check for new accounts).
Payment is due on completion of the job unless a separate invoice arrangement has been agreed in writing. Late payment may attract interest at the statutory rate under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998, where applicable, plus reasonable recovery costs.
8. Cancellations
You can cancel up to 4 hours before the agreed start of your slot, free of charge. Cancellations inside that window, or cancellations once the crew has been dispatched, may incur a £45 dispatch fee.
If we cancel a booking (extremely rare — usually due to weather, vehicle breakdown or safety), we will tell you as early as possible, refund any prepayment, and reschedule at a time that works for you.
9. Liability
We carry public liability insurance and goods-in-transit cover. We will, of course, take care of your property — but please be aware of the following limits to our liability:
- We are not responsible for pre-existing damage to floors, walls, doorways or fittings that may be noted on entry.
- We are not responsible for the contents of items we collect — please remove anything of value before our visit.
- Our total liability for any one job is limited to the greater of (a) the price paid for that job and (b) the limits of our insurance, except where the law does not permit a limit.
- Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or anything else the law does not permit us to limit.
If something goes wrong, please tell us within 7 days so we can investigate while the facts are fresh.
10. Health and safety
Our crew may refuse to lift items they reasonably consider unsafe — for example overloaded furniture, items requiring more than two people, or items inaccessible by safe routes. In that case we'll discuss alternatives (dismantling, additional crew, a different access route) before declining.
11. Complaints

13. General
- Variations. Any change to these terms must be in writing and agreed by both of us.
- Assignment. You may not transfer your booking to anyone else without our written agreement.
- Severability. If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest stays in force.
- Third parties. No-one other than you and us has any rights to enforce these terms under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999.
- Governing law and jurisdiction. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
